Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina Privacy Notice (including use of Cookies)

Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina will respect the confidentiality of any personal data you share with us, or that we have access to through District or Rotary International (RI), to keep it safe, and we will make every effort to protect your privacy.

CLUB MEMBERS

Your personal data allows us to manage your membership and provide the services you are entitled to.

What personal information we collect

Club Members are asked for their name, contact details, date of birth, current or past profession, and a record is kept of attendance and dues paid.

We may also have access to information from your Social media accounts (depending on your privacy settings) and information about you that is publicly available (e.g. websites and publications).

If you electronically purchase products or services through the Club, to avoid fraud and process transactions securely, we may need to collect and/ or share data with banks, card processing and verification services. They only collect the personal data that is required by regulation and law. (This does not apply to bank transfers).

Note that the District 2203 team publish an online directory of membership information. They are also legally responsible for protecting your data under GDPR legislation whilst in their safekeeping and have their own privacy notices in this respect.  Contact details are given below.  Rotary International run its operations outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and therefore Data Protection law differs. How we use your personal information
We use your personal data for the legitimate interest of conducting core Club business activities, which include:
• Administering your membership
• Keeping in touch with notices, minutes, invitations and other communications
• Providing you with the services, tickets, or information you asked for
• Providing information to District and Rotary International services
• We may use your name, photograph or video to promote the Club and its work
• Conducting surveys or other means of understanding how we can improve the Club.

Sensitive information and sharing with third parties
We do not collect any personal information on members classified as ‘sensitive’ under GDPR. We do not share any of your personal information outside of Rotary.

VISITORS TO THE CLUB /WEBSITE / SOCIAL MEDIA

You may give us information directly, through signing up for an event, to get Minutes, when you donate, etc.  You can ask for this information to be removed at any time by contacting the Club Secretary or Sergeant at Arms.  saa.rcmarbellaguadalmina@gmail.com

Use of cookies

You also give us information indirectly when using this website. This information is anonymised and helps us understand how people use the website.  We use ‘cookies’ to make your interactions with the site safer and easier, specifically to prevent cross site request forgery, keep your account details safe, process online payments through Stripe, and collect information relating to online sales.

Basic anonymised information about viewing is potentially available from our Facebook page and YouTube channel but we do not track individuals or any of their identifiers.

Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you certain rights
• You have a right to be informed when your personal data is being collected, what is collected and how it will be used or shared.
• You have a right of access to your personal data: which allows you to be aware of and verify the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data. You can request a copy of the data held, by applying in writing, with two proofs of identification. 
• You have a right in certain circumstances to have inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked (restrict processing), erased (right to be forgotten), or destroyed.
Since we use the data to administer your membership, blocking or restricting some key data may result in your membership lapsing.
