An engaging and thought-provoking presentation with Kathryn Lindup, founder of Rapid Rewired Mind. Kathryn introduced us to Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) and explored how the patterns and beliefs we develop throughout life can influence our thoughts, behaviours, and wellbeing.

Drawing on her experience, Kathryn shared how RTT can help people gain fresh perspectives, challenge limiting beliefs, and take meaningful steps toward positive change. This was an insightful and inspiring session, with plenty to consider and discuss. 

On Saturday, 13 June 2026, the Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina celebrated its annual Change of Collar ceremony at Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, marking the official transition of leadership for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

Outgoing President Ian Kuah formally handed over the collar of office to incoming President Pamela Lake, who now assumes the presidency of the club.

The Change of Collar is one of Rotary’s most important traditions, symbolising continuity, service and the passing of responsibility from one president to the next. The occasion provided an opportunity to recognise the achievements of the past year and to look ahead to new initiatives under Pamela Lake’s leadership.

During his term as President, Ian Kuah led the club in supporting a range of local charitable initiatives, community projects and Rotary programmes. His year culminated in the club’s successful Bollywood-themed charity gala, which brought together members, friends and supporters in celebration and to raise funds for Rotary causes.

Speaking after the ceremony, Pamela Lake said she was honoured to take on the role and looked forward to building on the club’s strong tradition of service and fellowship.

The Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina remains committed to supporting both local and international humanitarian initiatives and to making a positive impact in the community, guided by its motto, “Service Above Self.”

Rotary Club Marbella–Guadalmina’s Bollywood Charity Gala, held on 18 April 2026 at Hard Rock Hotel Marbella, brought together more than 150 guests for an unforgettable evening of entertainment, generosity and community spirit.

The glamorous Bollywood-themed event raised an impressive €15,003 net for two important causes: The Spine Foundation in India and AFA Marbella, which supports people living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.

The evening showed what a community can achieve when it comes together to support others. Rotary Club Marbella–Guadalmina extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated and contributed to the event’s success.

The funds raised will support valuable work both internationally and locally, reflecting Rotary’s commitment to service and its aim of making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Making a Difference Through Spine Surgery

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and fellow Rotary Clubs in our District and abroad, our Bollywood Charity Gala in April helped strengthen the Global Grant supporting The Spine Foundation (TSF) and its life-changing spine surgeries in rural and tribal Maharashtra, India.

Three spine camps in Ambajogai, Gadchiroli and Nandurbar have provided surgery and medical care for 51 patients at no cost to them. We are especially grateful to the TSF surgeons who generously waive their professional fees.

The project has raised ₹39,02,838, helping bring hope, healing and access to essential care to those who need it most.

Supporting People and Families Affected by Alzheimer’s

Following the success of its Bollywood Charity Gala, Rotary Club Marbella–Guadalmina is delighted to donate €4,000 to AFA Marbella.

AFA Marbella supports people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while also providing valuable assistance to their families and carers. Through its work, the organisation helps local people access guidance, care and essential support.

The donation forms part of the €15,003 net raised at the gala, held at Hard Rock Hotel Marbella on 18 April 2026. The event also raised funds for The Spine Foundation in India, enabling the club to support causes both locally and internationally.

For Rotary Club Marbella–Guadalmina, fundraising is about more than organising successful events. It is about turning the generosity of members, sponsors and supporters into practical support for organisations that make a lasting difference.

The club is proud to support AFA Marbella and its important work with local families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. This donation reflects Rotary’s continuing commitment to serving the community and supporting those who need it most.

District 2202 recognises the valuable work our Club has done in supporting Nacho Dean and his scientific voyage Espana Azul, which sampled the macro, micro and nano plastics in the waters around Spain.

Earlier this month, on behalf of RCMG Jane Sim and Pamela Lake took part in the Asociación de Mujeres Universitarias de Marbella (AMUM) scholarship award ceremony at the Palacio de Congresos de Marbella.

Seven outstanding female students from challenging or disadvantaged backgrounds were awarded scholarships to support them in attending university and RCMG was proud to contribute. The scholarships were awarded based on hard work and resulting grades and their determination to do well. Many of the girls are going on to follow STEM careers.

Speakers included the AMUM president, our godmother, Graciela Waens and the awarded girls were each introduced by an AMUM member, or by the scholarship donors. Pamela and Jane introduced a girl each and hope to keep in touch with them going forward. It was very emotional for the girls as for many it was their first time public speaking and they all did very well. To close, Isabel Cintado, the Marbella Councillor for Equality delivered an inspiring speech.

The Rotary Citation awards recognize the hard work clubs do throughout the year. Working to achieve the citation goals helps clubs engage their members, stay relevant in their communities, and run more efficiently. A very special honorary member, Nacho Dean. A dedicated explorer and environmentalist, he has walked around the world (took 3 years), swum between the 5 continents, and is now leading an expedition to chart plastic pollution around the coasts of Spain.

The Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina held its inaugural President’s Charity Cup Golf Tournament on 17th December at the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Resort to raise money for underprivileged children in La Linea and Malaga.

Fine weather, enthusiastic golfers and a well-supported raffle resulted in €4,200 being raised. This will be shared between Hogar Betania in La Línea, Las Lagunillas in Málaga, and Cuidad de Los Niños Orphanage in Málaga.

Thanks to Jorge Querol from Los Flamingos Golf, participants enjoyed their afternoon on this picturesque course. This was followed by drinks and tapas and the prize giving ceremony at the nearby Los Flamingos Racquet Club.

Ralph Brenk of Mara Collections provided the trophies for the top three teams.
