Golf Tournament Creates a Happy Día de los Reyes Magos for Disadvantaged children.
The Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina held its inaugural President’s Charity Cup Golf Tournament on 17th December at the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Resort to raise money for underprivileged children in La Linea and Malaga.
Fine weather, enthusiastic golfers and a well-supported raffle resulted in €4,200 being raised. This will be shared between Hogar Betania in La Línea, Las Lagunillas in Málaga, and Cuidad de Los Niños Orphanage in Málaga.
Thanks to Jorge Querol from Los Flamingos Golf, participants enjoyed their afternoon on this picturesque course. This was followed by drinks and tapas and the prize giving ceremony at the nearby Los Flamingos Racquet Club.
Ralph Brenk of Mara Collections provided the trophies for the top three teams. Oscar Eguren and Jorge Herrera won the bespoke first place trophy, onto which their names will be engraved. The runners-up were Jorge Querol and Patricia Zimmerman, with Frank Buersing and Scott Couper in third place.
The Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina would like to thank Euro Economics, Ebury, Survey Spain, Ibex Insurance, Fore Business, Halo Holiday Rentals, and Nockolds Solicitors for their generous sponsorship of this charity event.
