Report on VIII ENCUENTRO DE ROTARIOS DE ANDALUCIA, CEUTA Y MELILLA

Yesterday, 1st October, the Rotary Clubs of Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla met for their annual meeting at the Hospital Real de la Misericordia in Marbella's Old Town. Hosting RC was the Rotary Club Marbella, and I wish to thank their President Meinrad Busslinger, and Alejandro Criado Sánchez, who had taken on the organization, for this fantastic event. The morning was dedicated to the presentation of projects. I represented our RC and presented the Peer Mediation Project in schools in Colombia "Let’s make Peace".

This year's winning project was San Pedro's project "Homeless Angels", which they had already presented last year on the same occasion: A very good local project and worthy cause which aims at including homeless people into society. The project draws on a holistic approach to provide people with housing and labour.

In general, a lot of interesting projects were presented, including one supporting a University in Africa, founded by Rotary. Three of the Rotaract Clubs presented themselves. Next year's meeting of Rotary Clubs of Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla will be hosted by the RC Málaga Alcazaba, a fairly new RC. Maybe we should consider hosting the 2018 Meeting?
