The largest project, the Rotary has tackled in its 105-year history ever - the fight against polio - is, PolioPlus, and is close to the finish:
Since 1988, with the help of powerful partners such as the World Health Organisation, it has been possible to free most of the world from polio, using massive vaccination campaigns.

The ultimate goal, to extinguish the disease completely, is reached to 99%. But in four countries in the world, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Nigeria, polio is still rife. Here the lack of infrastructure, political instability, cultural and religious reservations work make it difficult.

But with our strong community and international aid, we are certain to eliminate every last percent of polio in the world yet.
